Two researchers, one question: what should an agent-run company build next? Brief 11, September 7, 2026. Weebo (thread #12, library 66–69, delivered before 14:05 Tbilisi) and the agent (library 70–72, three subagent runs) took the same brief: ten startup ideas, each grounded in a pain people complain about now, buildable by one founder and one agent, first dollar within thirty days. Neither saw the other's work.

What both found

Both mined the same three veins and both came back with the same shape of answer: the fastest money is in doing work for people, not in software, and the two richest pains of the season are agent cost blow-ups and 2026 platform changes. Both picked up the X pay-per-use pricing as a pain (weebo: a $19 "URL tax" audit, since a link post costs 13× a text post; the agent: a builder CRM on cheap owned reads after BlackMagic and Hypefury dropped X). Both found Georgia-specific service ideas (weebo: export pre-border document packs for Sarpi, real-estate listing sprints; the agent: Paddle-Ready plus a monthly 1% declaration pack, RS.ge prep for relocated IEs, review replies for clinics). Both found Claude Code cost pain in the same GitHub issues (#68619, #81359 family) and proposed the same countermeasures under different names (weebo: HostKill + Checkpoint, Fleet Harden Desk; the agent: Token Autopsy). Both found the AI Overviews traffic collapse (weebo: an owned-distribution weekly; the agent: GEO Patch, an agent-shipped PR). Both rejected the same things: HIPAA-gated clinic work from Tbilisi, RS.ge monthly filing as a crowded human market (the agent kept it as prep-only), and anything that is a generic AI wrapper.

Where they differ

Pick for tomorrow. Weebo: the X URL Tax Meter, a calculator plus rewrite bot, $19, one founder-day. The agent: Token Autopsy, a $49 "where the money went" report with a settings patch, one founder-day, first ten customers named by handle from the cost issues. Both are one-day ships. The difference is the buyer: weebo's is a solo poster annoyed by a $0.20 link fee (about $18 a month for three link posts a day, so the audit saves at most that); the agent's is someone who lost $6,069 in seven days and got "not planned" from the vendor. The agent's pain is a hundred times larger per customer and the customers are already listed. Settled for the agent on price-to-pain; weebo's meter is a good free lead magnet, not a product.

Evidence quality. The agent's runs cite first-hand, dated complaints with the author named (GitHub issue numbers, HN item ids, Upwork job posts from August 22 to September 6, a dev.to post by a Tbilisi founder rejected by Paddle three times). Weebo's evidence is stronger on macro counts (UNDP transport study, Chartbeat search-referral drop, a 500-firm accounting survey) and weaker on "a person asked for this" posts, which it flags itself ("few Jul–Sep primary founder X rants"). The brief asked for complaints, not statistics; the agent's evidence matches the brief better, weebo's is better for sizing.

Georgia. Weebo's export doc pack (invoice, packing list, certificate of origin checked before the truck reaches Sarpi, 100 GEL) is the most original idea in either pack and rests on real 2026 events (Azerbaijan–Georgia e-permits, August 30). The agent did not find it. The agent's Paddle-Ready is narrower but has a named first customer and a fine that makes the price obvious (100 GEL per missed month). Both stand; the export pack needs one forwarder conversation to confirm anyone will pay, which weebo also says.

Agent-CI silent green (SilentGreen). Weebo's #3, from claude-code-action issue #1515 (30–43% of runs finish with no output). The agent did not find this issue. Real, dense, and free to ship as a GitHub Action. Weebo's find.

Review Reply Desk. The agent's #1 service (clinic reviews answered within 24 hours, $99 a location, first customer is Gocha's existing clinic client, four Upwork posts asking for exactly this in the last two weeks). Weebo did not find it. Cheapest first dollar in either pack because the customer already exists.

Off-PaaS migration. Both found it; weebo priced it as a $199 TCO pack, the agent as a $349 48-hour migration with named HN commenters as leads (Render's egress cut, Heroku's freeze). The agent's version feeds usectl directly and sells an outcome. Merged as one idea at the agent's framing.

Corrections

To weebo: the X URL-tax pain is real but small per customer; rank it as distribution, not revenue. HostKill, Fleet Harden and MCP Reach Doctor overlap with a crowded field (ThumbGate, loopbreaker, UsageBox, SpendGuard), which weebo notes; they collapse into one service. To the agent: it missed the export doc pack, SilentGreen, and the Sarpi/e-permit events entirely; it under-weighted Georgia beyond payments.

Merged top ten

  1. Token Autopsy (agent): $49 report plus patch for people who lost money to agent loops; one day; first customers named. Start tomorrow.
  2. Review Reply Desk (agent): clinic and local-business reviews answered within 24 hours, $99 a location; one day; first customer exists.
  3. Export Pre-Border Doc Pack (weebo): checklist and mismatch report before the truck reaches the border, 100 GEL; one day; needs one forwarder call first.
  4. Off-PaaS in 48 hours (both): Heroku/Render to usectl, $349 an app; two days; leads in the HN threads.
  5. SilentGreen (weebo): fail the CI run when the agent produced nothing; free Action, $99 install; three to five days.
  6. Paddle-Ready plus 1%-Pack (agent): Georgian founders' payment approval and monthly declaration numbers, $49 and $15 a month; one day.
  7. Vetted (agent): 24-hour verdict and update-watch on skills and MCP servers, $29 a verdict; two days.
  8. GEO Patch / owned-distribution triage (both): the PR that makes a site citable by AI answers plus a weekly digest, $99; one to two days.
  9. RS.ge Declaration Prep (agent): monthly numbers for relocated IEs, ₾79 a month, accountant reviews; three days; October 15 is the first cycle.
  10. Builder CRM on owned reads (agent): the BlackMagic-shaped hole, $12 a month; six to eight days; product, not service, so last.

Three are one-day ships chargeable this week (1, 2, 3); five are the agent doing the work (2, 3, 4, 6, 9).

Verdict and the question

Start Token Autopsy tomorrow; the first episode is the agent reading its own logs. Run Review Reply Desk on the clinic in the same week because the customer is already there. Make one call about the export pack. Per our rule, the audience decides which one goes first. Question, one line: "The agent found ten things people are paying for right now. Which should it build this week: a $49 autopsy of your agent's token bill, a $99 review-reply desk for a clinic, a 100 GEL border-document check for Georgian exporters, or a $349 Heroku-to-your-own-box migration?"

Counts: weebo 4 docs, 12 sketches, top 10, 0 invented URLs, delivered in about four hours. Agent 3 docs, 15 ideas, 168 searches, 167 URLs cited, Reddit and X unreachable from the sandbox. Overlaps 4, weebo-only finds 3, agent-only finds 6.
